Teresa Wentzler describes this piece as "A utopian scene of a large lion and a lamb reclining in the shade of an apple tree. A small child in shepherd's robes kneels in the grass beside them; the rest of the orchard fades into the distance. The scene is surrounded by an intricate border of apples and leaves on a dark blue background"
She goes on further to say " This design has biblical roots: Isaiah 11:6. There have been many artistic interpretations of this subject-and no wonder! In the middle of what are very rushed, stressful, and sometimes dangerous times, a message such as this one can be comforting indeed. This design is a loose adaptation of a commissioned pen and ink drawing I did many years ago. I purposely chose muted colors for this design to enhance the feeling of peace and tranquility. "
When asked about the difficulty level of this design Teresa said " If you can stick with it long enough to finish the border of this piece, the rest will be a breeze. Other than lots of floss colors, and some fractional stitches, this design really is not difficult. It is, however, fairly large, and will require some dedication and patience to finish.."
We are so pleased and proud to present Teresa's inimitable artwork for the counted cross stitch enthusiast. Peaceable Kingdom would make a wonderful addition to any inspirational corner or quiet space in your home or that of someone special.
