A Superb Rare Antique Georgian Silver Butterfly Tremblant Brooch Pin, circa early 19th Century Georgian - Victorian Era. This gorgeous true antique piece is composed of masterfully hand executed silver filigree in some of the finest, most beautiful patterns I have ever seen. The form is a butterfly, as natural subjects such as insects and birds were popular at the time. The pin is a temblant, meaning is is mounted on a coiled spring which allows for some movement when worn. The pin closes with an antique "c" catch. Unmarked, but probably French or Austrian in origin. In exceptionally beautiful antique condition with original patina. Overall it measures about 2 inches from side to side and about 1 7/8 inches up and down. A truly wonderful and rare piece. Express and International shipping available.
