This is an old book titled" The Elements Drawing in Three Letters to Beginners" by John Ruskin with illustrations drawn by the author. It is dated 1961, and on the title page it is marked "Eighth Thousand." It was published by Smith, Elder & Co in London. The hardcover book has a green cloth cover embossed with a plant/vine decoration on both front and back. There is no dustjacket. The spine has gold lettering 360 pages.
BINDING: Weak with both front and back hinges cracked exposing binding material. There are no loose pages.
PAGES: The inside front cover has a bookstore sticker from Seton & Mackenzie in Edingburgh. The front endpaper has some prices and codes in pencil, very discreetly written. The 1st blank page has "Edinburgh 1868" written in ink & page 360 has a small number written in ink. The other pages have no writing and all text is clear. They are age yellow, tanned around the edges, with a very small amount of foxing.
COVER: The corners are bumped. The spine cover is cracked & starting to separate from the front cover. The spine tips' fabric is worn.
