For sale is a rare early American sterling silver spoon made by Abraham Hews, Jr. born 1793-died 1867. He produced silver in Boston, Mass. from 1823-1850.
It is a curvaceous piece with a fiddle end. As you can see from the closeup of the back of the spoon below, it has Hews' makers mark and a beautiful old script monogram. The first letter is "C". The last letters could be any one of several.
NOTE: The dark lines on the spoon are reflections where I took the photo in the light of a leaded glass window.
US SHIPPING INCLUDES DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.
I can highly recommend Wright's Silver Cream to clean all of your silver. I have 4# tubs for sale. If you are a silver dealer or have a large collection, you may be especially interested.
