If you're familiar with the term "body horror", then you've got to be familiar with the man who was responsible for the term: David Cronenberg. And so it should come as no surprise that two out of the three films in this collection are from the "master" himself.
In VIDEODROME, a sleazy cable television programmer adds a bizarre channel to his lineup, only to find that it has some very unsavory side effects; SHIVERS (aka THEY CAME FROM WITHIN) was Cronenberg's debut feature, about the residents of a high-rise apartment building succumbing to a parasitic infection that causes people to turn into sex-crazed maniacs; and a man with a fetish for metal finds himself gradually being taken over by metal in Shinya Tsukamoto's brilliant black-and-white cyberpunk flick TETSUO: THE IRON MAN.
Three great movies, paired together for one low price! The cases for "Tetsuo" and "Shivers" are a little bent up along the spine, and have some general wear elsewhere, but are still in presentable condition. The "Videodrome" cover looks good, save for some minor wear. All the tapes play well. "Videodrome" is the collector's edition featuring an unrated director's cut of the film.
